Three games in, three projected lottery picks have yet to suit up for a Duke regular-season contest.
The Blue Devils’ combination of experienced stars and a top-flight freshman class landed them the No. 1 ranking heading into the season.
Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum and Marques Bolden — three of the team’s six freshmen — were sporting sharp suits at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night when Kansas took down the Devils, 77-75, in the Champions Classic.
That means Duke will likely lose that No. 1 ranking when the new polls come out on Monday. And that is only fair because the Blue Devils — without those three freshmen — aren’t the nation’s top team anyway.
