Bacon to test the waters

Florida State guard Dwayne Bacon took to Twitter on Wednesday night to announce that he’ll throw his name in the hat for the 2016 NBA Draft. The freshman noted that he will not hire an agent, leaving open the option of retuning to school next year.

“I have decided to submit my name for the 2016 Draft in order to explore my dream of entering the NBA and to keep my collegiate eligibility in tact I will not hire an agent,” Bacon wrote on his personal account.

Bacon is the second Seminoles freshman to declare for the draft this week. On Monday, rookie guard Malik Beasley announced that he would be entering the draft.

This past season in Tallahassee, Bacon averaged 15.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He started 33 of FSU’s 34 contests and was named to the All-ACC Freshman Team.

Bacon will have until up to 10 days after the NBA combine, which ends on May 15, to withdraw their names from the draft.
