Virginia Tech remained inside its own state to land its most recent commitment: 3-star cornerback Shawn Asbury II. On Sunday, Asbury committed to the Hokies. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Asbury hails from Stafford, Virginia.
According to 247 Sports, Asbury ranks as the No. 37 player in the state of Virginia and the No. 103 cornerback in the 2021 class.
Asbury is Virginia Tech’s 12th commit in the 2021 class; his decision was the coda for a busy recruiting week for the Hokies. Earlier in the weekend, Virginia Tech landed 3-star dual-threat quarterback Tahj Bullock. The day of Bullock’s commitment, 3-star athlete Keli Lawson pledged to VT, too. Lawson is another in-state commitment.
