Football preseason preview guru Phil Steele released his preseason all conference teams, and several ACC players were well-represented. Here’s a look at some ACC players singled out by Steele for honors:
Notre Dame: The Irish are an independent in football, and making first team All Independent on offense were:
RB Tarean Folston, WR Will Fuller, WR Chris Brown, TE Durham Smythe, OL Nick Martin, OL Ronnie Stanley and OL Steve Elmer
First team defense included:
DL Jarron Jones, DL Sheldon Day, LB Jaylon Smith, LB Joe Schmidt, DB Cole Luke, DB KeiVarae Russell, DB Max Redfield
The second-team offense included:
QB Malik Zaire, WR CJ Prosise, OL Quenton Nelson and OL Mike McGlinchey
The second-team defense included: DL Romeo Okwara, LB James Onwualu and DB Elijah Shumate.
K Justin Yoon, P Tyler Newsome and return man Greg Bryant all made second-team special teams.
