Football season has arrived, but North Carolina’s basketball program got a much-needed shot in the arm Wednesday evening, as Bartow, Florida 2016 forward Tony Bradley made his commitment to Roy Williams and the Tar Heels.
The 6-10, 235-pound Bradley is currently listed by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 28 overall player in the senior class, as well as the No. 7 power forward. Scout.com lists Bradley as the No. 31 prospect in the 2016 class and the No. 5 center, while Rivals.com ranks the Floridian as the No. 30 high school basketball player in the country.
UNC set itself up to be the frontrunner in Bradley’s recruitment when they hosted him for an official visit in Chapel Hill last winter.
Throughout the past several months, as Bradley has been playing AAU ball all over the country as well as at numerous invitation events, that visit to North Carolina has been one of the barometers that he’s been comparing all other schools to.
With a desire to get recruiting out of the way before his senior season at Bartow High School, Bradley pulled the trigger and became the first member of UNC’s 2016 basketball class. In doing so, he becomes the first consensus top 50 commitment in two years for North Carolina.[hr] Get access to the rest of this article and unlimited access to the rest of ACCSports.com when you upgrade to Premium Access!
