Report: UNC to self-report additional NCAA violations

According to InsideCarolina.com, recent findings are prompting North Carolina to self-report new violations to the NCAA.

Last summer, the NCAA reopened its investigation into academic irregularities at the school. In May, UNC received its notice of allegations from the NCAA and was set to publicly release its response in the coming days. The latest developments could potentially delay the process.

In 2014, North Carolina hired former federal prosecuter Kenneth Wainstein to conduct an independent investigation into the irregularities. Wainstein released his discoveries last October. The report by InsideCarolina states that one of the new violations is connected to the Wainstein Report, while the other violation is unrelated to the current NCAA investigation and is tied to an Olympic sport.
