New UNC pledge happy to get season going

Laurinburg, North Carolina middle linebacker Jonathan Smith made North Carolina’s coaching staff a group of happy men on the evening of August 14, as he committed to the Tar Heels during a team cookout at Scotland County High School in Laurinburg, North Carolina.

The 6-1, 220-pound Smith is a consensus 3-star prospect, listed by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 26 inside linebacker nationally, and the No. 31 player in the state of North Carolina.
