McAdoo Declares for NBA, Opens up Starting Spot

James Michael McAdoo will enter the 2014 NBA draft, UNC announced on Thursday.  The second-team All-ACC selection had one year of eligibility remaining with the Tar Heels.

As a junior, McAdoo averaged 14.2 points and 6.8 rebound per game.  A two-year starter for the Heels, he is projected to go 55th overall (25th in the second round) in DraftExpress.com’s latest mock draft.

With McAdoo leaving for the pros, rising junior Brice Johnson is the most probable candidate to replace him in the starting rotation.  Johnson averaged 10.3 points and 6.1 rebound per game in 19.4 minutes of play during the 2013-14 season.  Forward Isaiah Hicks will also likely see more minutes in his second year at UNC.
