NC State landed its second running back in its 2019 class: 3-star in-state prospect Zonovan Knight, who picked the Wolfpack over the Tar Heels.
A fringe top-500 recruit, and a top-20 player in the state of North Carolina, per 247 Sports, Knight is a 6-foot running back from Bailey. He plays his prep ball for Southern Nash — the same high school as UNC legend Julius Peppers.
As a junior in 2017, Knight ran for 1,877 yards and 27 touchdowns. He received offers from 17 schools, including Duke, Purdue, Boston College and Tennessee. In March, Knight actually committed to Duke; however, less than three months later, he decommitted from the Blue Devils.
In the middle of June, Knight took unofficial visits to North Carolina and NC State in respective weeks. Two weeks after his trip to Raleigh, Knight pledged to the Pack.
He joins Georgia’s Jamious Griffin as the two running backs in NC State’s list of 2019 commitments.
