Louisville safety Calvin Pryor was selected by the New York Jets with the 18th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Pryor was never officially an ACC player, but that didn’t stop him from tormenting ACC offenses during his three years with the Cardinals. He had six tackles in a 36-9 win against Miami in the Russell Athletic Bowl last season. In 2012, he had six tackles in a win against North Carolina. He had four tackles and an interception against N.C. State in the 2011 Belk Bowl.
Pryor will get to play in a Rex Ryan defense next year, so he’ll be coached by one of the best defensive coaches in the game. Dawan Landry and Antonio Allen are currently the starters at safety on the Jets’ depth chart, both of which Pryor can overtake with a strong fall camp.
