Louisville TE’s Career Cut Short Due To Medical Issues

Louisville tight end Hunter Bowles’ football career is over due to medical issues, a university spokesman confirmed Friday morning.

Bowles underwent brain surgery on Sept. 5, 2013, after being diagnosed with a condition called Chiari Malformation, which results in a structural defect in the brain. Bowles was optimistic that he would be able to return to football after his recovery, but he never resumed on-field activities.

Bowles, from Glasgow, Kentucky, was a three-star recruit in the 2012 class who took a redshirt in 2012.
