Louisville will play Purdue in the season opener of the 2017 season, ESPN’s Brett McMurphy reported.
The game will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium, which is the home of the Indianapolis Colts.
The matchup with Purdue is just the second nonconference game scheduled for the 2017 season. The other is the annual matchup with rival Kentucky, which will be on Nov. 25. Louisville has met the ACC’s requirements of playing at least one Power 5 opponent out of conference each season, so the other two available slots will likely be filled with lower-tier teams.
