By the end of the 2014-2015 season, the Louisville Cardinals had lost its top-four scorers — two in the NBA Draft, one to graduation, and one removed from the team earlier in the season. Although the Cardinals added two transfers for next season — Damion Lee and Trey Lewis — their eligibility only lasts for one season, leaving the Cardinals in dire need of a strong 2016 recruiting class.
So Monday, Louisville officially offered Jonathan Isaac, a 6-8 190-pound power forward out of Hollywood, Florida, according to Corey Evans. The 4-star recruit is ranked as the ninth-best small forward in the 2016 recruiting class according to 247sports Composite.
In addition to the Cardinals, Isaac also received offers from Pittsburgh and perennial powerhouse Kentucky on Monday. Before Monday’s offers, Isaac already had a long list of schools interested in his services. Among that list are several ACC schools including Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Miami, Boston College, and Florida State.
According to 247sports, the leaders in landing Isaac seem to be Florida State, Florida, Kentucky and Louisville.
