8. Joseph Yukica: 64.8% (1968-1977) — Boston College
Boston College’s winningest head coach, Joe Yukica, was ahead of his time. His 68-37 record over nine seasons completely overturned the 1-19 record that the Eagles had earned a decade earlier. Specifically, Yukica’s successful 1971 campaign picked up a 9-2 record and earned him New England “Coach of the Year.” Under his guidance, the Eagles began facing tougher opponents like Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Tennessee. Following Boston College, he went to coach at the University of New Hampshire for a year and then Dartmouth College from 1978-1986. He was thereafter inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2000.
