9. Paul Pasqualoni: 64.4% (1991-2004) — Syracuse
Consecutive 10-win campaigns in his first two years defined Paul Pasqualoni’s rise with the Syracuse Orange, as he retains the reputation as the winningest first-year head coach in the program’s history. Pasqualoni led the team to four Big East titles (prior to the Orange joining the ACC) and nine bowl games. His 14 years with Syracuse saw a 107-59-1 overall record, but were soured by his firing in December of 2004 and an NCAA investigation into the university. Pasqualoni went on to coach for the University of Connecticut and the University Florida, then coached a slew of NFL teams before recently being fired from the Carolina Panthers.
