Virginia Football conducts 110 COVID-19 tests; 2 positive results

After returning to campus July 5, Virginia football has now released information regarding its initial round of COVID-19 tests. According to the university, 110 tests were performed on student-athletes; of that group, only two players tested positive for the coronavirus — 1.8 percent.

The two athletes were notified and will self-isolate for 10 days.

Earlier this week, UNC football temporarily suspended offseason workouts due to a cluster of positive tests. One day later, NC State announced that it had administered 315 COVID tests since May 29 — with only five positive tests.
