According to a tweet from Stadium’s Jeff Goodman, Virginia Basketball has landed a commitment from JUCO wing Tomas Woldetensae.
The 6-foot-5 Woldetensae was a JUCO All-American this season while averaging over 17 points per game and shooting close to 48 percent on 3-pointers. Woldetensae, who hails from Italy, played at Indian Hill Community college; he also shot just under 89 percent from the free throw line this season, too.
Virginia has landed a commitment from Indian Hills CC 6-foot-5 versatile guard Tomas Woldetensae, his coach Hank Plona told @Stadium. Woldetensae, who hails from Italy, is believed to be the first JUCO player Tony Bennett has taken at Virginia.

Woldetensae picked Virginia over Illinois and Central Florida. He will join another Italian, Francesco Badocchi, on Virginia’s roster for the 2019-20 season.
Last month, Virginia won the 2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Cavaliers will lose stars De’Andre Hunter, Ty Jerome and Kyle Guy to the 2019 NBA Draft. Mamadi Diakite is currently testing the draft waters, too.
