Bubba Cunningham has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball committed. The North Carolina director of athletics will start his five-year term this September.
In a somewhat surprising revelation, Cunningham is first appointee from North Carolina to the committee. Cunningham has been with UNC since the fall of 2011.
Bubba Cunningham will begin a five-year term on the Division I Men’s Basketball Committee in September, NCAA announces. He’ll become the first UNC athletic director to serve on the committee.

Kevin White, the vice president and director of athletics at Duke, was the committee’s chair for the 2019-20 season. However, due to COVID-19, the NCAA had to cancel both the men’s and women’s tournaments this season.
