Two ACC players head west in NCAA transfer portal: Trey Morrison, Chubby Purdy

Two more former ACC players have found new football destinations west of the Mississippi River:

    • Trey Morrison, a four-year starter at defensive back for UNC, committed to Oklahoma. Morrison, a 3-star recruit in the 2018 class, signed and played for Larry Fedora. He then spent three season playing for Mack Brown
      • During his time at North Carolina, Morrison made 44 career starts and recorded 163 total tackles; he also intercepted two passes
      • Morrison will now play for former Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables
    • Former Florida State quarterback Chubba Purdy, who was a part of the 2020 recruiting class, will head to Nebraska
      • Purdy was initially a Louisville commit; however, FSU coach Mike Norvell targeted him in the 2020 class, thus dropping Jeff Simms, who ended up at Georgia Tech
      • Purdy will now play for Mark Whipple, Pitt’s former offensive coordinator who left this offseason for the same position with Scott Frost and Nebraska
