Roy Williams on corruption in college basketball: “I don’t want to be indifferent to it because I believe it’s a tremendous problem”

From ACC Operation Basketball in Uptown, Hall of Fame North Carolina basketball coach Roy Williams joined The David Glenn Show. DG and Roy talked all things college hoops: corruption in the sport, what has to change, summer basketball and the fantastic mix of talent on UNC’s roster.

On the subject of the trial into corruption in college basketball, Williams mentioned that these issues have always been around college sports: “I don’t think you can solve all of our problems. I think you can make some of them better, but we’ve had these problems forever.”

Despite that, Williams — who had three national championships and 842 wins to his name — mentioned that he’s never had a parent ask him for benefits: “I’ve never had a parent ask me for anything — never. I don’t deal with agents at all.”
