Veteran NC State running back Ricky Person Jr. announced his decision to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. Person, who hails from Raleigh, released the decision on his personal Twitter account.
While he’s dealt with injuries during his time at NC State, Person has been a dynamic and versatile offensive tool for the Wolfpack. Person will finish the 2022 season, though; he isn’t opting out. This decision comes just days before NC State hosts North Carolina on Friday, which will include Senior Day festivities.

Person is a senior; however, if he wanted to, he could’ve returned for the 2022 season due to the extra year of COVID-19 eligibility.
During the 2021 season, Person amassed 151 touches from scrimmage — for a total of 813 yards and seven touchdowns. For his career, Person has 1,916 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, on 444 carries. He’s also caught 56 passes, including four touchdown receptions.
Over the last two seasons, Person has teamed up with Bam Knight to form a strong 1-2 punch in the NC State backfield.
Person also threw for a touchdown pass during the 2020 season, which means he’s scored in three different ways as an offensive player.
