NC State suspends starting point guard Markell Johnson

According to a release from Craig Hammel, director of communications for NC State men’s basketball, the program has indefinitely suspended sophomore point guard Markell Johnson.

The suspension comes from a violation of the Student-Athlete Code of Conduct, per the release.

Johnson averages 27 minutes, 8.7 points and 6.6 assists per game. Last week, the ACC Analytics page looked into how Johnson fit well with the new system of Kevin Keatts. He has started all 10 games for NC State this season, too.

NC State is in action later today; the Wolfpack hosts UNC Greensboro on Saturday.
