On Friday afternoon, NC State football netted the sixth commit to its 2019 recruiting class. Drake Thomas, a 3-star linebacker from Wake Forest, pledged to the the Pack. According to 247 Sports, Thomas received offers from nearly two dozen programs. This list includes Alabama, Michigan, Clemson and Tennessee — among others.
His recruitment was led by Des Kitchings.

Of the half-dozen players that have committed to the Wolfpack for 2019, five hail from North Carolina. Drake Thomas is the second linebacker in the bunch, too; he joins 3-star prospect Jaylon Scott from Shelby, NC in this distinction.
The only non-North Carolinian, so far, in this class: 3-star running back Jamious Griffin.
Griffin, who committed to NC State just last week, is from Georgia — another key pipeline area for Dave Doeren. There were nine players on NC State’s spring roster that either hail from Georgia or played prep ball in the state.
