North Carolina’s future depth in the trenches took a hit on Tuesday when junior college offensive lineman Kelby Wickline decommitted from the Tar Heels.
Wickline announced on Twitter that he’ll transfer to West Virginia this offseason:
Almost Heaven, West Virginia. My new home. pic.twitter.com/oGD0Zp92FQ

The 6-5, 276-pounder from Jones County Junior College pledged to the Tar Heels last month. His father, Joe Wickline, is the offensive coordinator at West Virginia.
UNC’s offensive line will undergo a rebuilding year in 2017. The team will graduate multi-year starters in center Lucas Crowley, tackle Jon Heck and guard Caleb Peterson. The Tar Heels also lost senior John Ferranto to a pectoral injury before the 2016 season kicked off.
Carolina has four O-linemen committed to its 2017 class.
