UNC fills major hole with 2017 big man commitment

North Carolina hosted 2017 center Sterling Manley for an official visit over the weekend. On Sunday, Manley decided to become a Tar Heel:

Manley’s commitment addresses UNC’s greatest need for the 2017 class. The team’s projected 2016-17 rotation includes three frontcourt players in Kennedy Meeks, Isaiah Hicks and Tony Bradley. Meeks and Hicks, both seniors, will graduate after this season.

Manley, a native of Pickerington, Ohio, is ranked the No. 252 prospect nationally and a 3-star recruit in 247Sports’ composite rankings. His 6-10, 230-pound frame will add size down low for the Tar Heels as soon as he arrives on campus next year.
