The recruitment of Starlings was competitive process; he chose UNC over Oklahoma, Virginia, South Carolina and West Virginia.
Initially, Starlings committed to Michigan last fall; however, that didn’t last for too long. Back in Jan. 2022, Starling de-committed from the Wolverines.
According to Inside Carolina, Starling collected 76 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and five sacks during his junior season in 2021.
Starlings is the third commit in North Carolina’s 2023 recruiting class; he joins 4-star quarter Tad Hudson, who committed last August, and 3-star offensive tackle Nolan McConnell, another prospect from Virginia.
