Cam Johnson transfer situation highlights need for rule change (Audio)

Cam Johnson is transferring out of Pitt and, after graduating, can play immediately at his program of choice next season. He’ll also have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

However, all of that comes with a catch.

Pitt is restricting Johnson’s options. While the Panthers will allow Johnson to transfer to an ACC school, he can only do so if he sits out next season.

David Glenn explains why Johnson’s situation highlights a rule in need of change.

“When the big rules favor the institutions and athletic departments, the small rules need to benefit and protect the student-athletes,” Glenn said.
