Louisville DC leaving for Mississippi State

 

Louisville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is leaving to take the same position at Mississippi State, according to Sports Illustrated. The move comes after Grantham’s third season with the Cardinals.

UofL’s defense finished the 2016 season ranked No. 8 nationally in yards per play allowed (4.69) and No. 6 in yards allowed per rush attempt (3.10). The unit was No. 31 in the nation in scoring defense.

Per USA TODAY, Grantham was the fifth-highest-paid assistant coach in the country in 2016, earning over $1.3 million in total pay.
