Hood departure leaves UNC backfield in limbo

North Carolina’s thin offensive backfield endured a considerable blow on Friday when running back Elijah Hood declared for the NFL Draft.

Hood, who originally announced on Dec. 22 that he’d return in 2017, led UNC in rushing yards (858) and touchdowns (8) as a junior this past fall. His departure leaves the Tar Heels with minimal experience at the position.
