Doral Moore is the one player who Wake Forest couldn’t afford to lose this offseason.
Keyshawn Woods, who left as a graduate transfer? Bryant Crawford, who has his name in the NBA Draft but could return? Donovan Mitchell, who will transfer with two years left?
Danny Manning already might have players who can replace each of them, such as Chaundee Brown or the incoming duo of Isaiah Mucius and Jaylen Hoard. If not, guards and wings are plentiful on the graduate transfer market.
Certainly losing the experience and talent of Woods and Crawford and the potential of Mitchell certainly isn’t helpful to a struggling program. But Moore’s decision to stay in the NBA Draft and hire an agent is a huge blow. Mainly because Moore is the Deacons’ only huge human … which is also why he’s on the NBA radar despite a variety of flaws.
