Jay Bilas on Cam Johnson: Players should be allowed to leave and play immediately somewhere else

Cam Johnson decided to transfer out of Pittsburgh last month. North Carolina emerged as one of the favorites to land Johnson, who happens to be a graduate transfer. However, Pitt will not allow him to play for the Tar Heels — or any other ACC program —  in 2017-18. If Johnson wants to go to UNC, he would — currently — have to sit out next season.

Despite the hold-up, Johnson plans to visit UNC next Monday, per Jon Rothstein of CBS.

ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas joined the David Glenn Show this week, where he opened up on why Pitt’s decision is wrong and why the NCAA’s problematic transfer policies.
