Bubble hopes continue to cloud: UNC’s matchup with Virginia Tech postponed due to COVID-19

As the North Carolina Tar Heels look to mount a last-ditch run for an NCAA Tournament bid, more and more games continue to be postponed. A matchup with Virginia Tech, which was scheduled for Tuesday (Feb. 16), has been postponed due to a positive test, subsequent quarantining, and contact tracing within the Virginia Tech men’s basketball program.

This marks the third home game for UNC that’s been postponed without a rescheduled date. Following the post-Duke victory party saga last week, a Monday matchup with Miami was also postponed.

Following a 60-48 loss at Virginia on Saturday, UNC basketball sits with a record of 12-7 (7-5 ACC); the Tar Heels are firmly on the 2021 NCAA Tournament bubble.
