In-state recruiting has long been one of North Carolina’s core competencies. This week, UNC took several steps to continue that track well into the future.
On Monday evening, North Carolina offered a scholarship to 4-star Kinston wing (2021) Dontrez Styles. A day later, UNC also offered Jaden Bradley, another in-state talent from the class of 2022. The 5-star Bradley hails from Concord; he plays his prep basketball for the Cannon School. Current UNC wing Leaky Black is also a product of Concord.
According to 247 Sports, Styles and Bradley rank as the No. 1 overall prospects in the state of North Carolina in their respective class: 2021 and 2022.

It’s obviously early in the process, but Bradley already has offers from Florida State, Florida, Auburn and Alabama. A top-10 prospect in the 2022 class, Bradley also received an offer from Kansas this week, too.
