Jerian Grant’s initial foray into the ranks of professional basketball has been tough. Inconsistent minutes, matriculation into a new offense, coaching changes and, ultimately, a trade have all shaped Grant’s brief NBA career.
However, in the Las Vegas Summer League championship game on Monday night, Grant pumped in 24 points and 10 rebounds while helping lead the Chicago Bulls — his new team as of four weeks ago — to an 84-82 overtime victory over Tyus Jones and the up-and-coming Minnesota Timberwolves. For his efforts, Grant was named the title games’s MVP.
