Double-digit wins may be in the cards for UNC

Putting an exact number on how many games North Carolina will win this fall isn’t a simple task. UNC could potentially win anywhere from eight to all twelve of its regular season contests, depending on how it all shakes out.

The Tar Heel schedule can almost be broken up in threes — one-third are games they should win fairly handily, one-third are challenging but likely winnable ACC matchups, and one-third are games that they won’t, or may not, be favored in, and will need supreme efforts to come out on top in.

As far as the four games UNC should win fairly handily, they should be able to take care of business against Illinois Sept. 10 in Champaign, and James Madison in the home opener Sept. 17 in Chapel Hill. After that, the Tar Heels will probably be heavily favored to win its seventh straight game over Virginia, as well as to prevail over The Citadel Nov. 19 in Chapel Hill.
