And just like that, Virginia basketball’s 2019 recruiting class has doubled in size. On Monday night (Aug. 20), UVA picked up a commitment from Kadin Shedrick, a 4-star center. 247 Sports ranks the 6-foot-11 Shedrick, who hails from Holly Springs (NC), as the No. 90 prospect in the 2019 class.
He joins 4-star guard Casey Morsell in Virginia’s 2019 class; it’s super early, and a lot will change, but currently this ranks as a top-10 class.

According to 247 Sports, Kadin Shedrick already had over 30 scholarship offers; and with his stock on the rise, that number would’ve gone up. Other schools that tried to land Shedrick: Baylor, Arizona State, Xavier, Louisville, Indiana, Florida, Georgetown — the list goes on.
This makes back-to-back classes with Virginia landing one 7-footer, or near 7-footer. Current freshman Francisco Caffaro arrived from Argentina in the 2018 class.
