4-star Josh Hall commits, NC State builds top-5 2020 recruiting class

One day after NC State landed a commitment from 3-star point guard Shakeel Moore, the Pack picked up another prospect: Josh Hall.

Hall, a top-50 prospect out of Durham, N.C., adds serious power to a strong 2020 recruiting class for NC State. The 6-foot-9 Hall is a rangy prospect; he coveted a great deal of interest from other ACC programs, like Louisville. He seems like a natural fit as the de facto small-ball 4 in NC State’s 4-out system. This is a role Torin Dorn had great success in during his two seasons with Kevin Keatts. Hall, however, would offer even more positional versatility with his length.

Keatts and the Wolfpack now have five 2020 commitments, including from the state of North Carolina. Four of the top 10 prospects in the state are NC State commits: Cam Hayes, Nick Farrar, Hall and More. Hayes and Hall rank as the No. 2 and No. 3 prospects in North Carolina for the 2020 class, per 247 Sports.

Hall’s commitment boosts NC State’s class into the top five nationally. Currently, Duke and North Carolina rank second and third, respectively, in terms of 2020 class rankings. Virginia checks in with the No. 7 class in America, too. (The ACC is ridiculous.)

Over the weekend — Moore picked NC State over a plethora of programs, including several from the ACC: Pittsburgh, Penn State, Cincinnati Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Hall and more play together for Moravian Prep.
