3-star safety TJ Quinn commits to Louisville football

Louisville continues to be busy on the recruiting trail; the program’s most recent commitment comes from TJ Quinn, a 3-star safety from Georgia.

Quinn is a legacy recruit; his father played at Louisville in the 1990s. The 6-foot-1 safety picked Louisville over Virginia Tech; however, several other programs were in the mix, including West Virginia, Cincinnati, Kentucky, NC State, Colorado and Wake Forest.

247 Sports ranks Quinn as the No. 83 safety in the 2021 recruiting class, as well as one of the top 80 players in the state of Georgia.

Quinn’s recruitment was led by Louisville assistant Derek Nicholson, a former Florida State linebacker that joined Scott Satterfield’s staff earlier this year as the program’s inside linebackers coach. So far, Nicholson has proven to be a talented recruiter, too.

Louisville’s 2021 recruiting class sits 15-deep now, ranked 23rd nationally, per 247 Sports. This week alone, the Cards have landed three commitments — all in the defensive backfield, including Quinn. Earlier this week, 3-star cornerback Kani Walker and Derrick Edwards, another 3-star corner, also committed.
