Two weeks after naming is top six programs, Lyndon Cooper has committed to NC State. In the end, the Wolfpack won out for the 3-star Cooper — over Syracuse, East Carolina, Texas State, Charlotte and Troy.
Cooper, a 6-foot-3, 315-pound offensive guard from Carrollton (GA) High, becomes the 16th commit in NC State’s 2021 recruiting class. After a slower start, NC State has built a strong group mostly over the last three months and during the challenges of COVID-19. It’s a remarkable effort from the entire program, top to bottom.

Cooper joins two other offensive line prospects — Jaleel Davis and Thornton Gentry, both fellow 3-star prospects — in the class, too. Davis projects as a tackle, while Gentry could be the future of the center position for NC State.
NC State now has four 2021 commitments from the state of Georgia; Cooper joins 4-star quarterback Aaron McLaughlin and the Seabrough twins, Fredrick and Cedric.
