Wake Forest has landed its highest-rated recruit since 2008.
Doral Moore, a 4-star center in the 2015 class, committed to Wake Forest on Tuesday night, according to Rivals.com reporter Clint Jackson. Moore is considered the No. 48 overall prospect in the Rivals rankings, better than any Demon Deacon signee since 2008, when Wake Forest signed three 5-star recruits.
Moore took an official visit to Winston-Salem this weekend. He chose the Demon Deacons over offers from Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio State, Texas, Connecticut, Florida State and several others.
Moore, who stands at 6-11, 230 pounds, would still be considered a project, but his upside is tremendous given his length and athleticism. He should be in a perfect situation to grow at Wake Forest, where he’ll both get loads of early playing time and learn under coach Danny Manning, who has a reputation for being one of the premier big man coaches in the nation.
With Moore and 4-star point guard Bryant Crawford on board for the 2015 class, Manning has established a strong foundation during his first full recruiting cycle with the Demon Deacons. Wake Forest is also heavily involved with a number of elite 2016 prospects, meaning a brighter future could be rapidly approaching.
