Richard Washington gives Demon Deacons another outside threat

August 1 was a big day for Wake Forest’s basketball program, as Danny Manning and his staff accepted their second commitment in the class of 2016.

Richard Washington, a 6-5 shooting guard out of Walsingham Academy in Williamsburg, Virginia, reportedly committed to Manning personally, while visiting the head coach’s home for dinner.

Washington, who the 247Sports Composite lists as the No. 239 overall player nationally in the class of 2016, as well as the nation’s No. 47 shooting guard, provides Wake Forest with a capable outside shooter who is looking to develop into an all-around scorer.

In July, Rivals.com’s Dan McDonald wrote, “Washington looks like he’s one of the better shooters on the East Coast. The 6-5 lefty has a pure stroke and a quick release.”[hr]
