Wake Forest has reportedly received a commitment from 2016 prospect Johnny Ray.
Jason Pughe of Athlete Vault reported Ray’s pledge on April 5. Little is known about Ray. He’s unrated by 247Sports and doesn’t appear on any other major recruiting database.
According to Hudl, Ray is a 6-5, 242-pound linebacker. He plays for Wando High School in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Despite listing himself as a linebacker, Ray played most of his junior season at defensive end, and that’s where he projects at the next level.
Wake Forest now has three commitments in this cycle — offensive lineman Je’Vionte’ Nash, kicker Dominic Maggio and Ray.
