After two games, John Wolford ranked eighth in the nation in passing yards. After three games, he’s in the middle of a quarterback controversy.
Well, it’s unlikely that it will be much of a public controversy. Coach Dave Clawson will say all the right things about Wolford, as he should about his sophomore quarterback. He’ll likely install Wolford back in the starting role as soon as Wolford’s injured ankle allows him to play at a high level.
But at least privately, Kendall Hinton’s performance on Saturday as Wolford’s replacement should start some pretty serious dialogue about the future of the position within the program.
