Former Wake Forest basketball coach Dave Odom made an appearance on The David Glenn Show on Wednesday to talk about former Demon Deacons star Tim Duncan, who took home his fifth NBA title on Sunday. Duncan was named ACC player of the year during his junior and senior years in Winston-Salem and is now mentioned as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
During the interview, Odom gave some insight on the reserved Duncan and had several positive things to say about the power forward’s character.
“People ask me if he’s as good a person as he is great player, and I say, ‘no, he’s better,'” Odom said. “Coaching him is a pleasure. It’s not something where you get up in the morning and say, ‘man, how am I going to motivate him today?’ He’s already motivated when he gets to you.”
