Latest Wake commit from Virginia provides speed, versatility

Wake Forest’s latest verbal commitment in the class of 2016 — Highland Springs, Virginia wide receiver Greg Dortch — is a 5-8, 150-pound elusive speedster who could provide the Demon Deacons a different kind of threat offensively in the coming years.

A projected slot receiver at the college level, Dortch ran indoor track this past school year at Highland Springs High School, recording a top time of 6.95 in the 55 Meter Dash, and 40.06 in the 300 Meter Dash according to MileSplit.com. He also plays prep basketball for the Springers.

Dortch visited Wake Forest for a Friday Night Lights camp appearance in June, where he impressed the Demon Deacon staff and earned his scholarship offer from the Atlantic Division program. A report by BloggerSoDear.com on the SB Nation network indicated that Dortch’s ability to make defenders miss was one of the key things that endeared him to the Wake Forest coaching staff, helping him earn him the scholarship offer from the Deacs.[hr]
