One of the often overlooked jobs of running backs is pass blocking, and the Deacons have been paying the price for playing inexperienced players in the backfield, especially true freshman Tyler Bell.
On one hand, Bell has been the best receiver of the running backs, catching five passes for 66 yards in four games. However, Bell has repeatedly been blown up trying to pick up blitzes, allowing defenders to run right over him on the way to pressure the quarterback.
