Virginia has had success recruiting Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach in the past, landing players such as quarterback Corwin Cutler and linebacker Jahvoni Simmons. Most recently, the Cavalier staff extended an offer to Ocean Lakes star Jalen Smith of the 2018 class.
“Blessed to say I have received my first offer from The University of Virginia,” the sophomore wide receiver announced on Twitter.
At 5-11 and 146 pounds, Smith will need to put on weight before playing at the college level. That shouldn’t be a problem, with three more years of high school left.
UVa does not yet have any commitments beyond the 2016 class.
