Virginia picked up its first commitment of the 2017 cycle on Tuesday when in-state standout John Kirven committed to the Cavaliers. Kirven’s decision comes just over six months after landing an offer from the Cavaliers.
“I am committed to the University of Virginia,” Kirven said via his personal Twitter account.
The junior from Woodberry Forest High School in Virginia is a consensus 3-star recruit. He is rated the No. 31 tight end in his class on the 247Sports Composite.
Kirven’s brother, Caid Kirven, is a senior walk-on on Virginia’s basketball team.
