After spending two seasons at Virginia without playing a snap, redshirt freshman quarterback Corwin Cutler is transferring. The Virginia Beach native revealed on Twitter Tuesday that he will play next season at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas.
The top two quarterbacks on Virginia’s depth chart — starter Matt Johns and backup Connor Brewer — return in 2016, so there likely wouldn’t have been an opportunity for playing time for Cutler in the immediate future. However, his decision to leave the program could have an impact on UVa’s quarterback situation a little further down the road.
