Why NC State will come out ahead either way with Braxton Beverly’s NCAA appeal

The case of NC State point guard Braxton Beverly is an example of where the NCAA rules simply do not work in the student-athletes favor. He took a class during summer school at Ohio State before his coach was somewhat suddenly replaced, and after one session of summer school was granted a release and ended up at NC State.

Because of that one class before he ever stepped on a court for Ohio State, Beverly is being treated as a transfer by the NCAA and thus has to sit out this year. NC State…
